It is the goal of Just Like New to offer only the very best items at our children’s consignment sales. We will not allow you to sell recalled or unsafe items. Our #1 goal is the safety and security of our shoppers /consignors. In light of the alarming number of recent toy and childen’s product recalls, Just Like New feels it is necessary to help parents become better informed about children’s product safety. It is the responsibility of our consignors to make sure all of their products offered for sale meet the required safety standards. Consignors will review the Consumer Products Safety Commission’s website within one (1) week of the sale to ensure that NONE of their items are subject to recall.

Crib and Car Seat Safety Standards:

CRIB STANDARDS:

– No Drop-side cribs

– No Pac-n-plays or bassinettes made by the former company called “Simplicity” will be accepted

– No infant tubs unless manufactured after 2017

Crib Slat width: Cribs will be accepted if the space between the slats is no more than 2-3/8 inches apart to prevent infants from getting their head stuck between them. Cribs must be manufactured after 1974 and must meet strict safety standards.
Cribs with corner posts: The corner posts should be the same height as the end panels or less than 1/16 of an inch higher than the end panels.
Cribs with Cut outs: No cut-out areas on the headboard or footboard so a baby’s head cannot get trapped.
Crib Top Rails: The top rails of crib sides should be at least 26 inches above the top of the mattress support at its lowest position.
